Ariel Gail

Prof. Gail S. Goodman has been a distinguished professor of psychology since 1993 and director of the Center for Public Policy Research, University of California Davis. She is widely acknowledged as the pioneer of modern research of child eyewitness memories and utilizing child victims to testify as legal witnesses. Professor Goodman has published widely, received many grants and been recognized with several international and national prizes. She consults with numerous countries and agencies around the world on policies as well as the study of children's victimization within the court system. She is an expert consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She's a member of numerous professional organizations, including Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor Goodman is also a member of the Psychonomics Society as well as the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was president of the American Psychological Association's Developmental Psychology Division, as well as three Divisions: the Child and Family Practice and Policy Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
