As a biological concept, an adult animal or human is one that has completely developed. If used in conjunction with humans, the term "adult" could mean anything that is connected to social or legal concepts. Legal adult means a person is at the point of maturity. They are considered to be an independent, self-sufficient person as well as responsible. The word "major" is a term used to define the person. 18 is the typical minimum age to become an adult however, this can differ depending on country and legal status, and also the maturity of the mind.

As we enter our early adulthood the physical capabilities of our bodies are at their highest such as muscle strength, reaction time as well as sensory capabilities, heart function.
